Despite Robinhood Chain's initial positioning as an L2 network tailored for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), August on-chain data reveals a different narrative. Out of the network's $540M Total Value Locked (TVL), the lion's share is driven by stablecoins, which have reached a market cap of $640M. Tokenized stocks and bonds have attracted a mere $32M in liquidity.
The reason for this imbalance lies in yield architecture. Users are leveraging the low fees of the Arbitrum Orbit-based network not to purchase traditional equities, but to rotate capital across stablecoin pools to maximize farming yields. This indicates that even institutionally aligned networks remain dominated by DeFi liquidity aggregators in their early stages. Until developers introduce cross-margin mechanisms allowing RWAs to serve as collateral for stablecoin borrowing, the liquidity focus is unlikely to shift toward traditional finance.
